Cinque Terre?

It looks and sounds gorgeous, but I'm thinking that we may wind up crossing it off our list. Two of the main attractions of the place are swimming and hiking. We ain't gonna do no swimmin' in April, I can tell you that right now -- not that we're awfully big on swimming any time of the year. And some of the hiking is described as "rugged" and "arduous"; I'm not sure that two not-very-fit-or-active senior citizens would be wise to try that. And anyway, if we decide that we do want to try some strenuous walking, I'm sure the Amalfi coast (down near Naples, where we'll be spending the last week of our trip) will provide all that we can handle -- and more. Cinque Terre does look to be wonderfully picturesque, but I'm pretty sure the Amalfi can more than hold its own in that regard also.

Finally, Cinque Terre is difficult to get to from Paris. If we drop it (and Geneva) from our itinerary, we could go from Paris to Venice in about 10 hours. This is in contrast to, what, maybe 17 hours of train travel and 24 hours in Geneva if we leave Cinque Terre on the itinerary.
