Although we've got tickets, we're not committed to going. The tickets were cheap enough that we can throw them away (or give them to somebody or sell them on Ebay) if something better comes along between now and then. What could possibly be better than La Bohème at the Met? Good point. I'll rephrase. They're cheap enough that we can throw them away if we decide to do something else next April -- like maybe a trip to Australia or a cruise to Alaska. (We just renewed our passports.)

If we're in the country next spring, . . .
. . . we're headed to New York. Who'd've thought you could get tickets to th e greatest opera ever written, performed by the Metropolitan Opera, for just $26 apiece? (Actually, $15 tickets were available, but I decided to splurge.) Granted the seats are up in the nosebleed section, but if the acoutics are OK, then they're good enough for me.
