Maria Callas and friend

Last night, Katka asked the name of the oh-so-familiar piece of orchestral music Pandora was playing for us.  I'm ashamed to admit I couldn't think of it and had to check: "O mio babbino caro."  I decided to regale the family with the vocal rendition on my iPhone, only to discover that it had disappeared -- a victim, no doubt, of my having pruned my music selections a couple weeks ago when I realized that I had almost no memory available.

Undeterred, I picked up my laptop, googled "Callas mio babbino," and found this image:
A striking picture no?  So striking that it sidetracked me.  I was struck by how similar this picture is to one that Abby did on her iPad a couple weeks ago:

By the way, Abby's is better.

This comparison of my granddaughter's art with that of a professional reminds me of another comparison from years ago.

Footnote:  The Pandora "radio station" I was listening to last night is "classical piano."  A full-orchestra version of anything, least of all "O mio babbino caro," had no business on that station, but I'll take my serendipity where I find it (heh, heh).
