Quote of the day

[E]very year, about twice as many people are killed in the United States by guns than die of terrorist attacks worldwide.
Update: It took me longer than it should have to figure out what's wrong with this phrasing., but now I've got it: It's a lack of parallelism.  (And the use of different verbs doesn't help.)   The fix is simple: ". . . twice as many people are killed in the United States by guns  in the United States than die of  are killed by terrorist attacks worldwide."
