Fish story

"Stanley Fish" sounds like somebody I should know about, but in fact he's a mystery to me. Wikipedia informs me he is "an American literary theorist and legal scholar" (so maybe there's no reason I should have known about him after all). It sounds very honest and sincere (until you get to the last three paragraphs, that is, which sound phony, phony, phony).  I should hope to be able to write something like that myself some day, even if I wind up never showing it to anyone.
