A screen tell me to enter 5 numbers from our 2008 Virginia return. Ever helpful, TT has already filled them in for me by importing the data from last year's file.
(Okay, so it shouldn't have told me to enter the numbers if it was going to do it itself, but let that slide.)
One of the numbers that's asked for is "2008 Deductions." A pop-up window explains that these deductions are the sum of lines 10, 11, and 12 on the 2008 return. But the number TT has entered into that box is not the sum of lines 10, 11, and 12, it's just line 10 + line 12.
I assume that it's the pop-up window that is wrong -- line 11 isn't a deduction, it's an exemption -- but boy, is this a sloppy, sloppy program or what?
