I just downloaded TurboTax from Amazon. It probably took 20 minutes or so. OK, no big deal -- it's a big program.
When it finished downloading, I installed it. Another 10 minutes or so. And again, no big deal -- it's a big program.
After installing it, I launched it and the very first thing it did was advise me to check for updates. Which I did. There were 5 different sets of updates, all of which it proceeded to download and install. Another 10 or 15 minutes. Now this is a big deal. If TurboTax cared about its users, it would update its files on Amazon (and its other distribution sites) every night so that all of the next day's downloads would be up to date. It doesn't do that because it would cost them a little money to do it. It's easier and cheaper to make the customers waste their time.
I hate TurboTax.
