I meant "a total geek."
The PC continues to perform really well, booting much quicker, shutting down without any problem, and not hanging up. But that's not good enough for Dan. Yesterday I removed "Keyboard Express 3" from the StartUp folder and replaced it with half a dozen AutoHotKey scripts. Most of the scripts just sign us in to our e-mail programs; for example, instead of typing a username and password to for my Yahoo account, I simply touch Ctrl-Alt-L. (Keyboard Express allowed me to do the same thing, but it took longer to load at boot-up, didn't work as fast, and insisted on putting an icon in the system tray.) I also added a pretty cool script from LifeHacker yesterday; if highlight a word or phrase and then touch Shift-Ctrl-C, AutoHotKey launches Firefox and Googles the highlighted term(s).
I also installed QuickMonth Calendar, which pops a monthly calendar up when the mouse hovers over the Windows clock in the lower right corner of the screen.
