And speaking of how stupid I am . . .

A couple weeks ago I borrowed Cassie's SUV and left my Buick with her. When we switched cars back, I noticed immediately how clean and bright and shiny it was, inside and out and right down to four clean and bright and shiny tires. "That Roger!" I thought, "What a sweet guy. There wasn't any need for him to clean the car up like that for me. Especially since they were doing me the favor by lending me the SUV." (Sweet guy that he is, Roger had surprised us with a sprucing up of the Buick once before.)

Well, a few days ago, Mary Ellen says, "Dan, take a look at the tires on the Buick." I reply, "Yeah, they look great, don't they? Roger must have used ArmorAll or something on them." "But Dan, even the tread looks new." "Huh?" I say, heading for the driveway. Sure enough: Four beautiful new tires on that tired old Buick.

Now is that a son-in-law or is that a son-in-law?
