Yesterday my wonderful wife sent a Word file to someone, but the woman she sent it to couldn't open it. I re-sent the Word file to her and I also sent it to her as an Acrobat PDF file. (She's got to be able to open one of them, right?)
To create the PDF from the Word document, I
- printed the Word document
- scanned the printout
- placed the scanned pages into Quark Xpress
- exported the Quark document as PDF
Easy, no? Well, . . . no.
Today I found
a free program that would have eliminated three of those steps.
