Our camera uses AA batteries. It uses them! So, about a month ago, I went out and bought rechargeable batteries. They work great. Now, if I can only remember to pick up a couple of the recharged batteries every time I pick up the camera, everything will be copacetic (a word I seem to remember my father using more than once, but I'm open to correction on that score). I didn't remember to pick up a couple extras last Thursday when Mary Ellen and I took Abby to the zoo, so after one picture, when the camera shut down with the message "I need batteries, dope!", I was out of luck. Fortunately, however, I did get that one picture:

I too get frustrated because batteries only seem to work when you don't need them.
I have a battery charger for my batteries but I have lost the instructions which just might tell me that it is, or is not, okay to leave the batteries on the charger even after the light goes out indicating that they are fully charged.
If it was okay to leave the batteries in the charger, I would do it. I would also leave the camera right next to the battery charger. Chances are then good that I would actually take along some recharged batteries every time I picked up the camera.
What cautions or prohibitions are associated with your battery charger ?
Jack
P.s.
You probably could have bought batteries at the zoo at a cost of $38 each.
I leave my batteries in the charger all the time (even when I should take a couple out and put them in my pocket for a trip to the zoo).
