You're probably wondering: If I replace the "power nuts" on my trash compacter, how long will they last?
Answer: 3 1/2 years.
When I retired -- um, 3 1/2 years ago -- my lovely wife greeted me at the door with "Congratulations! By the way, the toilet is clogged and the trash compactor is broken." The toilet was easy and, thanks to the internet, the trash masher wasn't much harder. The toilet hasn't needed any further attention, thank goodness, but the masher went kablooie a couple days ago. Again, the internet to the rescue. I ordered replacement parts ($21 plus $6 shipping) on Monday, they arrived this afternoon, and the masher is now re-installed in the kitchen and working as good as new.
